We just got hit with 2 feet of snow here and put my '98 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9L to work. I noticed that the front left(drivers) doesn't seem to give what it should. It only grabs if I give the truck hell, and if not, then only the other 3 tires do the work. Aren't these hub-less and run off a direct shaft controlled by the transfer case? In low 4 shouldn't all tires have equal power, and in high 4 be more like a limited slip to where the power is delivered to the slipping tire? This is my first Ram and not sure how it's mechanically set up. If you can help me out here, please do.

Nope, the t case has nothing to do with what tires get power, thats completely controled by the differnentials

The rear is a limited slip, which more ofen then not does nothing.

The front is open, meaning the tire with the least traction will get power and spin.
