Default 1996 1500 ram 2wd

Hey guys, this is my first time posting, needed to see if someone could tell me where the oil sending unit is located and how complicated it is to replace on my 1996 1500 Ram 2wd. My oil gage and my oil light started flickering yesterday, truck does not knock nor does it get hot, I checked the deep stick a couple of times by cleaning it and inserting it while truck is running and it looks like it is pumping oil, thats why i want to try the sending unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oil sending unit is behind the throttle body at rear of intake manifold, use mirror and light to find it.

First off: You NEVER check your oil level while your engine is running; only do that with your automatic transmission fluid.

Second: My ram did the same thing...i changed the oil and the problem went away. The light went off and the gauge stoped fluxuatiing when i stopped and went.

I was not checking the oil level, I was checking to see if the oil was being pumped, otherwise the stick would be dry except at the bottom. Thanks for the tip abitedgy, sounds like a challenge being behind the throttle body, hope I can change it.
