shocking truck
Maybe you guys can help...
Everytime I drive my truck somewhere and go to close the door, I get a nasty shock. I guess it maybe a loose ground wire somewhere, but wiring diagrams do nothing but confuse me and I can't see any obvious problems. On a possible related note, the fuse that goes to my back-up lights is constantly blowing. The time I put a new one in its gone. Any suggestions?????

RE: shocking truck
I am not so sure you have a wiring issue. However, I am going to guess you live in a cold dry climate this time of year. This is a benefit of living in those areas! In the past I have taken a dryer sheet that prevents static with your clothes and rubbed it on the seat. This will prevent it. Or you can spray some anti static spray for your clothes on the seat. Both will prevent it.

RE: shocking truck
i'm also thinking the shock is static electricity.
as far as backup lights, you have a dead short somewhere in the circuit, could be bulb, socket, or wiring. start with inspecting the bulbs and sockets, and try reverse with no bulb installed to see what happens. make sure there is no rusty goop in the sockets. if you've got a multi meter it will help with tracing.
