High Idle - 2000 Ram
2000 - Dodge Ram 4x4 5.9L
Starting having a problem with a high idle. When I start it in the morning it will usually idle up to 2000 RPMs then back down to 1400. When I drive around town it's usually idled around 1200-1400. I replaced the IAC and reset the computer but that hasn't helped. Any ideas?

did you remove the tb and clean it real good especially the well in the rear where the iac plunger goes in/out. it has to fill the well up pretty good to bring the idle down. also the throttle plate needs to close up and not stick. remove all sensors and clean with carb cleaner and toothbrush.
Vaughn, I'm going to clean it this weekend. I did try cleaning out the opening with cleaner where the IAC is located. I also noticed while removing the IAC, there is a lot of gunk under the throttle plates. So I figured it needs a good cleaning. The high is alomst like a sticking throttle. I can give it good rev and it will go back to it's normal idle of 750 rpms.
I had a buddy that it did it with his jeep and we found out that the "boot" on the throttle cable came loose and some how got stuck under the lever on the TB....I am not sure if that is it or not...probably not but if nothing else suggested works look at that.
