whats is wrong with this thing
my truck is stock other than a k&n filter no lift or leveling kit. tires are 265/75/16 nothing special not knobby or anything. my front end was checked over by me and then by a friend of mine who is a mechanic and its all fine. as far as compression i havent checked it but the heads were done less than a month ago so i dont believe this is the case. but i have been considering checking it again. ill have to hook up my scanner to check it. makes life easier. well today i backed into a parking spot and pulled forward a little to get off of the snow bank and it felt like i was in neutral. the truck reved but didnt move so i looked to see if i was between gears and i wasnt so i put the peddle to the floor and the truck started to shutter excessively and roll slowly. this went on for a while so i headed for the tranny shop but by the time i got there it was fine. so he hooked it up to the scanner and we went for a drive and everything checked out even sensor and motor functions. so i went home and as i pulled onto my street it started to slip again and started to shutter again real bad and then it dragged for a bit and then just stopped. and now its running fine.the guy at the tranny shop said that he believes i have electrical issues he says he thinks the pcm is acting up and causing all of my problems. i highly believe this; i just dont understand how my truck will run excellant and then all of a sudden start to idle weird and start slipping and not be able to get out of its own way.i appreciate all the help greatly. keep the ideas coming i need all of the help i can get. is there a way i can directly monitor the pcm only?
I agree with the plenum and tune up.
I had some of the same problems (not all or even close to all) you are having and cleaning the TB and IAC replacement did wonders. I am also assuming that you reset the PCM after you put in the TPS.
You can check the sensors also with a voltmeter when the truck starts running like crap to see if you can pinpoint it that way.
Good Luck

this thing would be gone but i would be upside down on the the truck and i cant afford to do that i need a relaible truck with my first kid coming. and no offense to everyone here but i miss my ford i know there are fords out there that have issues too but i didnt own one. and dodge makes a bad as$ looking truck too its a shame
well i got it back from the tranny shop because it was slipping etc after the rebuild. and it looks like the speed sensor on the tranny is bad and the neutral safety switch is gone as well so time to replace them and see if it cures my problems. are any of these dealer items because i cant seem to find them on autozone.com
