get Xpipe over Y.

sucks for you to live in a low emission state. CATS definately suck the power from any vehicle.

It took me about 2 hrs. Prolly about one to get out the old system off and 1 to put in the new one. I had never done anything like this before the most I had done to a car before was prolly change the oil. The hardest part about it was getting off the old exhaust from the back of the cat because it was rusted on. But a sawsall and some wd-40 helped me with that.

Have you ever heard of the thunderbolt muffler. I googled it but no website.
I think thats what I have, made by a company called afterburner or something. I'm pretty sure its the muffler they sell at O'Reilly

wasn't very loud at first, but after a couple hundred miles, it opened up and sounds real good now.

Just spent 750 bucks and bought a full out magnaflow exhaust with dual rear exit.

The P/N for the exhaust (catback) is 15771 and the y-pipe w/ Hi-Flocat is 23285.

Now I am trying to figure out headers. Any reccomendations?

here's the path I have chosen.

I went with the ypipe and universal converter for $150. The shop showed me a converter like the one they put on and you can see right through it (big honeycomb). Anyway, they moved the O2 sensor in front of the ypipe, so that works fine.

The normal Ram converter rattling was because the honeycomb broke loose inside the converter. The problem with that is most of it is now in my muffler. Shop was closing, so I told them I would be back on Friday. They are going to hook up a Thunderbolt and let me hear it. They said if I don't like it they would take it off and put a Flowmaster on it. Apperantly the Thunderbolt has "fingers" that depending on which way you turn the exhaust when mounting will either drop into the tube or stay up. It is a tube muffler. Actually it doesn't look much different than a glass pack. 3" tube in the middle with a 5" baffle around it. The one they have on the wall, they took a marker and wrote "for real men only". I have to try it atleast.

Not to hyjack the thread but where can you get an X pipe that will bolt up and not interfear with the transfer case? I want to get a Gibson Cat-back but I can't find anything decent for an X or Y pipe. Just a cheap Y pipe from Jegs.
