HeyI know that the tranny makes a noise on start-up on cold days, in park and reverse, due to pressure build up and the breather not working...BUT, mine started out with that, and then it got so it did it in 1st, park, reverse. Next I started it on a cooollllddd day and I was gettin a squak outa it, and it smelled like belts burning. My oil looks like new still and its not low. I stoped the squak by puttin it in gear and it stoped. It still does it every once in a while, when in park. I was parked with pressure pushing forward on my tranny, (rounded the snow pile over the curb behind my truck and it kinda just rolls up on it now when i back up haha). It does that kinda grindy noise when it is cold only, and when it warms up a little and stops. If i leave it in park and rev up my engine it comes back. Now what i do is i start my truck put it in gear andidle it outa the parking lot to let it warm up. Now i can hear a slite whine when i drive, which only probably i can hear, cause it just sounds a bit different then normal.
Hope this all kinda makes sense, im just wondering what you guys all think it is, or if you have had this happen to you before let me know, so i can bring it to the shop and kinda have an idea whats goin on, and not get riped off.

 

hey i have somthing else to add.... I can get a fast clicking noise as i drive over 50 km\hr. I cant seem to get it to make the noise under that speed. It will be going to a tranny shop on monday, the one that did my tranny\torque converter upgrade, and put in my dana 60 rear end as well. better not be either of those or else i'll be pissed casue they are both off of warrenty.
