Good idea!
To answer the questions:
1) Look for a good quality wire and you can go up to 8mm w/o having to upgrade your entire ignition system. Get a cap and rotor set-up w/ brass terminals
2) Read Silver_Dodge's post entitled "K&N FIPK no more" somewhere in there he listed what size (maybe even p/n as well) of K&N fits in the Mopar set-up.
3)Changing the diff fluid is a good idea, especially if it's never been done. It's super easy and often overlooked.

It depends on how often you change your oil. If you change it every 20,000 miles use royal purple. If you change it every 3000, use regular oil. otherwise you're just wasting money

I have a 5.9 but I used MSD SuperConductor wires 8.5mm with inexpensive NGK V-Power plugs and a brass cap/rotor all with excellent results in gas mileage and pep with NO ping / spark knock.
The plugs only cost me 10.00 & change for a set of 8 and the wires are a little pricey 79.00-90.00 but I found them on Amazon w/ free shipping for 66.50. I have the part #s but I dont know if they will fit a 5.2 prolly not. And the cap & rotor were 11.00.
