Default Truck is shuttering

I am having a problem with my truck shuttering a bit. It starts to shutter as soon as it shifts into the final gear and only does it at low RPM. When Iease into the gas when its shuttering it just gets worse but when I give it enough to downshift it will downshift and quit immediately. It only does it in the final gear. Not any other gear. It almost feels like im hitting small speed bumps when it starts. Its a 1997 1/2 ton with 360 , auto trans.

Sounds like you're bogging it ... like getting into too high of a gear too fast with a stick ... the engine will buck and shudder until the RPM's come up. Are you babying it? What's the tach read while it's happening? Could be the torque converter clutch is bad or the TV cable adjustment is off (allowing too early of an up-shift).

I see what your saying. I am driving likeI always do, which is yeah pretty much babying it. I want to say its the same RPM range it always has shifted into at but not completely sure. I will have to check it next time im in it. I'm thinking its right around 1500-2000 but not 100% sure on that.

No ... what's the tach read AFTER the shift that causes this issue?
