That is what I am asking. I want to know what problems I should look for when purchasing this truck!

I just got a 98 1500 4x4 extended cab short box with every option that was offered that year for $6000 so I think that your $4900 one is a great deal. Just check the basics if possible, go drive & then reverse while watching the driveshaft & make sure that the rear end does not have play in it. Front end is tight, turn left to right & watch the ball joints & tie rod ends. Weather the 4x4 works or not plan to get a 4x4 posi-lock, mine worked fine until we got our first snow & then it would not engage the front axle CAD so I put in a posi lock. Just plan for something to go out & if it does not then you are that much better. I already have a spare rear end & trans now for the future.

listen the only things to watch out for is the transfer case and tranny on the 98 ram. Everythings else will kinda depend on how the other person drove the vehicle. When you buy a used truck or car the things that can go wrong are endless the only thing dodge had that was badwhen they produced the second generation rams where the transfer case, tranny(depends on application), and brakes. Thats why its hard to guess what will go wrong. As far as your dela is concerned if its cherry and drives well and you like then go for it. A dodge ram is a good choice.
