Default New Problem

My problem is my check engine light just went on. Last week was the first time the truck ran rough it was pouring buckets here in chicago and it was reall y hesitating at stoplights and so, once the engine warmed up it was better. Figured a tune up would cure but since i brave the elements to do the work it was postponed. lol Today while running out for lunch my CEL came on and the truck while running would seem to sputter a bit and i feel a pretty big loss of power on it when i accelerate kinds of sputters from reading posts here could be tune up, o2sensor or my cat anything else i should look for or what would be the best guess. Also on the drive to work it was fine drove all weekend and no issues with it.

When the CEL comes on, it sets an error code that can be retrieved with a code reader or (on most trucks ... year dependent) by performing a key on-off sequence. What year truck do you have? Or you can take it to most parts chains (Autozone, Advance, etc.) and they'll probably pull it for free. Then we can tell you where to start looking.
