Default No start problems, PLEASE HELP

I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9L engine. It had some issues with not starting and wasn't pushing any gas. Ok, so I put a brand new fuel pump into it. Still not starting sometimes. When it does this, it just cranks and spits a little, and then seems like maybe it's fludding also. If Iput the pedal to the floor and back to no pedal it does eventually start. Driving down the road if I kick it down to the floor it spits and sputters a bit and doesn't have the hang on type of power it should have. Does this sound like something to you?? The dealer didn't really know either and thought maybe the computer? Any ideas, or better, answers, it would be so great.

Thanks in advance!!

Change out the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It's on the throttle body.

Mine was doing the same thing. When you say it is spitting and sputtering, could it be misfiring? Does the check engine light flash when it does this? Mine did. Turns out, it was the ignition coil. The problem starting on mine only got worse until it wouldn't start at all. After the coil change, I had to change the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

Butagain, mine was definately a misfire.

Good luck.

Ok, I pulled the 3 wiring harnesses and sprayed them with WD-40 to clean them up good. Today it started just fine, but when you kick the pedal down to rev it up it sputters a bit. If you give it slow throttle it's just fine. Now I know that is also a sign of the EGR valve, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference with it starting up. Going down the road it's fine if your easy on the pedal, but if you want to kick it in the A$$ and go, it sputters. Any more ideas, thoughts, etc?

I forgot to mention that about a week ago when I was driving through 24" of snow we got in our storm it did set a code, but at that time is still ran fine, and only had the starting issues. I ruled it as being the O2 sensor as I'm sure I sucked up some snow as it was flying all over. I have sence then disconnected the battery, so no codes are set anymore. When I do the on-off-on-off-on, I get nothing, so I assume that means the set codes are gone. Nothing has come back on since.
