telll you what thats a blast till you spend over 500 on tires and their so much harder to break loose anyways. i want so bad to find a set of cheap stock rims and go to one of those garages that sells used tires. if i get get another set just for burnouts for under 150 id do it.......

i guess i could just get two. hm.

anyways back to your question definately dont slam either pedal down, like everyone else is sayin. but also i wouldnt use first gear (manually selected) cuz you could risk runnin your RPMs too high too quick and blow it. thatd be the definition of suck.

They still shift when its in 1st, it just holds it out to redline.

Mine doesn't shift If I put it in first I don't think. Although maybe it does as I don't think I've hit the rev limiter in it. I know for a fact my 96 Honda doesn't shift if I put it in first. BTW my truck has no problem doing a burnout powerbraking it but I also have the 5.9L with 4.10's. Of course I'm also running 33" tires.

I've only done this crap once in my life, when I was drunk.
I still don't understand what made me do it, but I don't drink anymore.

Other than that this has to be the most absolute moronic form of entertainment, falling under roughly the same category as say, pissing on your bedroom's carpet, in front of mom.

Make sure to post pictures and videos on the Internet, maybe some police department will do what they did to that guy who videotaped himself doing 160mph in his Ferrari, because burning rubber is also reckless driving.

No they don't shift. I can put mine in first and drive on the rev limiter all day. There are 2 problems with you trying to do a burnout. 1 is its a 5.2. #2 is its a limited slip.

Maybe the older ones dont, mines a 99 it will shift, my frined 99 duragno will shift, my friends 2000 duragno shifts, my frineds 2000 ram shifts, umm... I think thats all of them that I know for sure.
Go out, stick it in 1st dont use the break and just hit it mine will burn all the way untill redline, and then just shift.
Its built into the valve body, on the fastman sites, under his tranny section he makes a big deal howhis trannys DONT shift when manually put into 1st, unlike the stock valve bodys(I think I read that on that site, if not I appoligise).

Here is a little more inspiration on my dads old little *** tires, (it was in normal drive and shifted all the way through 3rd, OD was off)
