Default roaring noise

Just bought 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4. It has a roaring noise after 15 mph sounds like running mud tires on it. I thought it just needed tires so I purchased new set. The noise is still there.I thought might be wheel bearing but taking load off either side doesnt affect noise.Has anyone experienced this before. Any help would be appreciated. Also sometimes tranny takes a while to change from 2nd to 3rd. Could these problems be the same.

When some wheel bearings get bad enough taking the load off doesn't always make the noise go away. Can you tell whether the noise is from the front or rear?

Sounds like coming from rear.

could be your rear differential. I'd look there. Might be the crush collor in your yoke or some other bearings in the diff.
