Default suspension question

I feel a clunk comming from under the drivers side floor at highway speeds. Front end feels tight and it doesn't clunk over bumps or any other time.
The truck also steers to the left slightly but doesn't pull.

I've been reading about the trac bars and still have a few questions.

What it the bar that goes from the tie rods and has a shock in the middle?
When I twist the bar(not pull) it has lots of movement at the joints, rocking back and forth. Is that normal??

Also is a loose trac bar bad for other suspension parts?

1999 1500 sport 4x4

Thanks for the input.

The bar with the tie rod end and steering damper (shock) on it is the tie rod ... yes, it can move rotationally.

The truck steering itself to the left is the same as pulling to the left.

Yes, a bad track bar can play a part in wearing out other front end components.

Check the front axle u-joint. Mine made a clunking sound too. Very easy to change.

The track bar is what keeps the front axle centered and prevents lateral movement. It should only move a couple of millimeters (at it's ball joint) when the front wheels are turned left/right (lock to lock). That's not much. Any more than that and a replacement is in order. Don't replace it with a stock unit. [:'(]
