replaced t stat with 180 this weekend. Thought I had everything cleaned up and right. let it sit for about 4 hours before I started it up. Used Permatex water pump/thermostat sealer and it still leaks around t stat housing. any suggestions? guy here at work said to use Indian Head shellac. Never heard of that but not sure if it is for high pressure.

 

We use the indian head shellac all the time at the shop i work in, stuff works great. Its also made by permatex.
