The manager at Direct told me the best after market tranny is from Jasper, it is supposed to fix all the problems with the stock tranny. I asked him where I could get one and he sells them.
Of COURSE he does ...

Well Direct Tire didn't have time, I when there 2 different times. When by Dodge dealership, there suppossed to do it Monday. I told them what it was doing and I told them to change fluid, filter and adjust the bands. They say they went to solenoid packs and not bands, why does it say to adjust the bands inthe owners manual?

Hopefully the damage isn't already done with the WRONG fluid in the tranny.

I had the same symptoms as your original ones a couple years ago when my truck was at 75K miles. All I did was drop the pan, change the filter, adjust the bands (YES THERE ARE STILL BANDS IN THE '01's) and then top off the fluid level with clean fluid. Haven't had any problems in the 40K miles since then.

Good Luck!

Symptoms area little different, but before I dropped $$ on a tranny, I'd spend a few bucks on a new throttle position sensor to see if that helps.

The TPS wouldn't explain it feeling like it was in neutral, but the phantom shifting has TPS written all over it.

Well I took my truck to the Dodge dealership and got the fluid and filter changed and bands adjusted. They also checked the TPS it was fine. Also got ripped a new one for $209. $115 was for labor, I want be going back there again. I haven't got to drive it yet, that'll be tomorrow. Was going to Direct Tire but they kept puttin me off and they don't adjust the bands.

GREAT...now I'm wondering if they used the right fluid when they changed mine! It seems to be shifting perfect, if it had the wronge fluid, I should notice, right/
