Default What will it take to fit 35s on my 2000 Ram Sport?

I've got a Rough Country 3" lift kit sitting in my garage, but I'm trying to save up some coin so I can get 35s as soon as I install the kit.

I keep reading all sorts of mixed opinions and I don't know what to belive.

My main concerns.
How do I git 15" rims on? I currently have 16s, but as we all know, 15" tires are much cheaper.
Will my kit be enough to fit the 35s? From measuring on the truck in the parking lot, I think 33s would fit at stock height, so I would hope 35s will fit after the lift.

I really don't want to start hacking away as this is my daily driver.

Any help is appreciated.

if i was you i would install the lift, buy the tires if they dont fit put stock ones back on and order a 3" body lift, unless ur liftkit comes with new springs then you could go ahead and by a 2" spacer for the front... but i think it should clear

The kit I have does come with new fron springs, so yeah, I could add the spacers after.
Can anyone confirm this bigger caliper issue that I might have when trying to fit a 15" rim?

sorry i dont know anything about the caliper... but couldent you just get tires to fit on your stock rims? cause it would be just as cheap as getting 15" rims and tires maybe cheaper, unless your looking for a fancy rim

get 16's.. 15's wont fit on your ram.. 99 and newer use the dual piston calipers upfront and 15's will rub on them.. SOME have had 15's clear but its a long shot and it depends on the brand of rim.. save yourself the time and trouble.. and get some 16's.. i might .. and i mean MIGHT be selling my 16's on nitto 315 (35's-ish)

the 3" shoudl clear them.. im running a 2" level on a offroad and my 315's clear just find...plus the added backspacing my rims give me..

That's what I want to hear!

My "new" issue now...... I didn't think stuff through from the start, and I've just recently installed a locker in my rear diff. How bad will my gearing be if I step up to the 35s now and leave the gearing stock? Will I be a gutless wonder and just have enough ***** to tow a bycicle or what?

Anyone running 35s on stock gears? I'd hate to have to change my locked diff.

I have a 3" Skyjacker kit and 33"s on 16x10 wheels. When I'm at full lock and hit a bump my tires will rub on the plastic fender lining. It's minor but it still will rub if you hit a big bump at full lock. Now I think this is due to the backspacing of my wheels as they stick out a bit. I'm thinking with other wheels I'd be fine but I don't know if it would clear 35"s and I like how my wheels are. I think if my 33"s rub like this 35"s would be a lot worse but at the same time I'd like to try them I'm just afraid of major rubbing. I think you'd have to go with 8" wide wheels with any hopes of clearing 35"s.

Another thing to consider i'd consider is with the 3" kit you can't add spacers without changing several other parts as your suspension is maxxed out at 3" of lift.

With 35"s I'd throw in a set of 4.56 Gears. 4:10's at minimum. My 4:10's seem about perfect for 33"s but not sure how they would be for 35"s. I know several people run 35"s on stock gears but I'd imagine it would be hard on the transmission plus not too much power.

depends how offsetted your wheels are.. you can fit 35's with stock wheels with a 3 inch lift but might rub a bit on the control arms at full turn.. i myself have 15x10's on my ram with a pretty good offset (stick out about 2 inches from the wheel well.. ) rubbed the hell out of the body with just a 3 inch lift.. took a 3 inch body lift on top of that to clear it..

the gear is still ok with 3.55's.. but you will feel the diffrence.. i still have 3.55's in my truck with 35's and can still spin all 4's on black top in 4lo

and as for the wheels.. i mentioned that i have 15x10's.. and i also have a 2001 ram.. all you need to do is grind down a little bit off the top of the caliber where it rubs.. 1/8 of an inch at the most

Does anyone know what the proper offset wheel and wheel size would be to fit 35s? (obviously after my 3" lift install)
