Default Synth motor oils not good??

Read sometime recently (from Huges Engines?) where synth motor oil is notas good as it used to beas they are removing additives to meet Gov. requirements (USA). Mostly stay away from anything labeled "Energy Conserving" or something of that sort. Mostly effects "high pressure points" in the internal works - cams and such.

I have used Mobil 1 in many vehiclesand am concerned if this is the case.

Can anyone confirm this????

Everything you need (or could possibly want) to know about oils of all kinds: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/

... because Bob IS The Oil Guy ...

It isn't just "synthetic oils", but most all motor oil. The Hughes article also states that (and despite Bob the oil guy) the only things they've noticed from using synthetic oils is that they spent more cash on buying them.
I would never say that synthetic oil is "not good" rather that "Bob" or anyone else cannot justify cost versus value to me.

I guess I should have made it more clear that "Bob THE Oil Guy" was a tounge-in-cheek reference ... meaning that we shouldn't rely on just one source for our information.
