I like ceramic pads. Virtually no brake dust or brake noise, and they stop really well.

how difficult is it to glaze a set of rotors on these trucks? i just picked up a 97 Ram 1500 4x4 w/ the 360 and it has very little stopping power it seems. the pedal is rock solid, but the brakes seem to grab very little. i'm guessing one of the dealershipemployees or someone on a test drive abused the brakes & toasted the rotors.

I had Raybestos(spelling?) Brake pads on my truck and they squeeked since new and wore out within 16k miles. I paid $60 for them and wasn't happy with the fact that they wore out so quickly or squeeked. So I decided to go ahead and get OEM brake pads this time so went to the dealer and to my suprise they were only $10 more at $70 so I slapped them in last Thursday but damn if they don't squeek too. I don't know what it is. I have Mopar pads and rotors and still making noise. I'm thinking about going back Monday and complaining but I'm not sure if they will do anything.

I ordered a set of Hawk from Summit the ones they list for my truck and they are way too long. This sucks as I'm in a bind now and need some brake pads fast so I guess I'm going to have to get some from a local store.

I like the pads NAPA sells, I just put some on the front of my truck and they are doing great so far. I dont have the part number but the parts guy said they were a medium hardness and that would help with the squealing. about 2000 miles on them and no problems yet. 99 Ram 2500 4 x 4. 57 bucks for the pads
