Default 1998 ram 5.9 gas, missing bad. no power

Hi there this is my first time posting question. I have a 1998 dodge 4x4 360 gas. Just had the pump replace in the trans. The macnic said he drove around the block and shifted and ran fine then he parked and called me to come pick it up. I get there try to start it and itstarts but is missing alout and will notidil up justmisses no power what so ever. we mess with it all day, check to see if there is a air problem. Change plugs still the same thing we go back to autoparts store and get a cap and button and rent a scan computer. We scan it and code says (ignition/dist speed malfuction) and code2 (miss fire) we install the cap and button. (what dose ignition/ dist speed malfuction mean)still same. I try to reave it up for about 2-3 min in frustration andpart of theexhauststart to glow red . thats when we stop working on it please help me where do I go from here.

is the part of the exhaust that glows before or after the catalytic converter? if it is before then i would bet that the cat is clogged up. that will also cause a missfire. on my 99 360 i had a #8 missfire when mine clogged

You might want to check the firing order on the cyliders and make sure the wires are on the right leads

If not the cat, the cam sensor wire might have sagged down and become pinched between the block and the bell housing during reassembly. If it is shorting out your fuel sync could be off enough to make you run real lean. Lean will make the exhaust around the motor so hot it will give you a tan. Just a guess.
