Isn't the amp in the head unit itself? If not and you wanna do away with it just find it and cut the speaker wires on each side and connect.

My truck has a factory amp elsewhere as I couldn't get my Alpine H/U working and it turned out I hadn't connected the remote turn on lead for the amp as I didn't think I had one. Once I did this it worked perfectly. I'm not sure how the amp is on these. If it's on the speakers you may be out of luck unless you change them. If it's a seperate amp just run new wires from the speaker outputs on the aftermarket H/U to the speakers.

Depending on your year and model, you may have the factory amps on the back of the speakers. Usually the amps are only on the two front 6x9's in the doors. Somtimes when hooked up wrong, you'll only get sound out of the rear speakers and the tweeters. If thats the case, get yourself a pair of 6x9's and switch em out. Not to much of a pain in the *** and you can get a decent set of speakers i.e infinity, polk, alpine, exc. for a decent price.

On mine none of my speakers worked until I hooked the remote turn on lead up. I thought the H/U was bad until we tried it in a friends car and it worked. The only thing that worked on mine was the sub and thats because it had it's own amp.
