Removing the cat is asking for trouble since it is illegal under Federal Emissions Law. Theoretically theloss of backpressure will cause reduction in low end torgue. True dual exhaust can have the same effect. Personally I would just replace it. The catalytic converters that are being used nowdays are not as restrictivebut everyone has their own opinion.
