Like popping the clutch on a stick. Rev it up in N (wouldn't go much over 1500-2000 rpm) and drop it into drive. Don't personally recommend it (wait ... you've got a bulletproof tranny, right). Dunno ... might work. I'd look for a REASON for the TCC to be engaged first (grounded signal wire, incorrectly installed TC, hydraulic pressure on the engagement system ... hell ... the TC could be bad) but it's worth a try.

I have tried that. I had to pump the gas pedal to get out in reverse, then I had to pump it again in drive. It feels like there is a rev limitter, doesnt let me go fast or high rpm. If I jack up the rear end, it drives and shifts well, up to 75mph. The minute I step on the brakes, she starts to stumble then stalls out.

Sounds more and more like the TCC is engaged.

Where is the TCC located? I have checked fuel pressure and its at 60psi. My vaccum is low, under 14inmg. What are the specs for fuel pressure and manifold vaccum? I was looking into installing a vaccum canister. I have read that installing a large cam, requires a vaccum canister.

Your low vacuum is probably due to the cam you're running. The TCC is the Torque Converter Clutch ... it's inside the torque converter. Your fuel pressure actually sounds pretty high.

Im going to try a vacuum canister, see if it helps. The torque converter was replaced, so I dont think its the torque converter. Any other Ideas? In park, I rev it up to 1500-2000 rpm then its starts to cut off. I dont think the torque converter has anything to do with it. It could also be a combination of things.

Thought the TC was replaced BEFORE you started having this trouble.

I sent out the torque converter to have it done to the specs I wanted. For some reason I feel it was not done right. I installed a vacuum canister and it didn't help. Im looking into pulling the engine and replacing the cam and torque converter.
