Default 25 buck driving lights =]

Went out and bought some $25 driving lights from advance auto parts. Installed them today and wow... ghettoized. I put them behind my grill because i had no other place to put them. Instead of bolting them on i had to attach them with plastic ties. They work pretty good so far. Had to put the switch next to my hazards because i don't have a drill. Btw they are brighter than my regular headlights. Oh and i almost bought the orange lights that you see on top of 3500's etc they were only 17 bucks but i decided to wait for my birthday. 4 days away.

Oh and any ideas...

testing them tonight

Here's pictures.

well its a good start. looks like nice bright lights. can you mount them down in the rectangular slots in the bumper? where did you get them? for $25, i might have to get a set.

the wire ties reminds me off when i tied a muffler onto a mustang with rope. it was back when i was about 16. i drove it to school that way one day and caught hell

I'll get you some pictures of my brackets tomorrow morning. I simply used some flat steel and used the bolt that was already there to mount my lights. No cutting or drilling of the truck was required.

Cost me virtually nothing to make them.

Nice choice in mounting location by the way.

Oh, and you should trim the grille off of your lights. You already will lose a bit of light through the grille, you don't want to lose any more. Oh, for now I would take those lights out. Two of the 4 points you have them tied to are things you should never ever tie to...

Yeah, I will have to get me some of those.

Here is how you should mount them. This is how I used to have mine.

I use them as fog's and they work pretty nicely. The are road legal and thats what I wanted. I have them aimed right below the regular lights (which reminds me I need to re-adjust them :/ )

Once you figure out where you want those lights, don't use that garbage wiring that comes with it lol... As soon as I saw that junk I threw it out except for the section that had the inline fuse and cut it to size and crimped new heat shrink ends on it. I also bought a lighted switch and wired that up. If you are going to keep the lights there (which is kinda pointless) Might wanna invest in some black zipties to clean things up. Im all about a clean look, and I agree with the guys who said to put them in the bumper cutouts. Probably the best option in your case because I imagine the lights are bumping around when you hit bumps with zipties. Like the guy above said, its a start.
