Dropping valve body

tranny valve body......what are you doing to it? if you got some spare change, id take it to a shop, my truck was down for 2 days when i put my shift kit in because i couldnt get the park rod back in right....
Well its a long story, long and short is that a guy was doing a voltage regulator bypass cause that function in the computer went out, after my alternator fried.
My choices were a $200+ new computer, or a $15 voltage regulator plus $40 for installing it, that was a no brainer to me, though at this point I wish I would have went with the computer.
He hooked the new external regulator to the wrong wire and sparks flew, looked again at the schematics and found out that was the wrong wire, hooked it to the right wire and presto, my battery was charging again.
Put in it drive, and it shuddered and died. Goes into instant shutdown mode in drive.
Starts and idles fine, will go in reverse or low gears, but dies like a stuck pig in drive.
Was also throwing a pressure sensor circuit failure code, and he found that the signal on that wire was good from the computer to the top side of the tranny.
So I dropped the pan, and he says theres a short in that harness, and everything should be fine if I replace it.
The guy is ASE certified electrical, hes got a multi $1,000$ snapon scan tool and appears to know his ****, he did goof on that hookup but I still trust his judgment.
So my truck is sitting out back, pan dropped, waiting for that harness.

If it's the governor sensor, you don't have to drop the VB completely out, it should be accessible by the edge of the VB. If you do have to drop it, the only things that can fall out are the accumulator piston and springs. Try to lower it down carefully and level, so that you can get a glimpse of those springs on the accumulator and how they set atop the VB and the order they are in.
The accumulator piston and spring are on the passenger side of the VB, favoring the forward (engine) position.

Not doing any sensors, I just need to replace the little wiring harness that goes from the top of the trans to the sensors.
If that could be got out, and a new one put in, without dropping the VB I would sure like to do it.
