Default My new Hemi

No, I didn't sell the Ram, or buy a new Ram. We did trade in the wife's Jeep Liberty though for this Chrysler Aspen. The Jeep has been awesome, but we just outgrew it and needed to get something with a 3rd row. We looked for a Durango, but just couldn't find one that had the right combination of stuff we wanted. This Aspen had it, plus tons more. It's a 2008, fully loaded (dvd, 30gb touch screen multimedia center with GPS navigation, Sirius, heated leather seats, backup camera, power everything, etc...) including the 5.7 Hemi. Has just over 20k miles on it is all.
It's kinda embarrassing that family hauler that my wife will drive 95% of the time is more powerful then my Ram. Oh well, it will be fun to drive when I can pry the keys from her hands. I got to drive it for 10 hours today though because I bought it in Utah. Good test of the gas mileage. It got 18-19 through the mountains (up and down steep mountain passes and winding roads), and 23-24 on the open flat highway. Gotta love that MDS on the Hemi.

I can't touch it, it's mainly the wifes. She lets me do whatever I want to the Ram as long as I don't mess with her ride (except for doing the routiune maint stuff). I'd like to get rid of the 20's and put some 17's or 18's on it, but I have to wait and see if she likes it as it is first.

Here you go:

or just google it. They only did one interior theme on the Aspen, so they all look the same except some will be leather and some will be cloth. The rest is essentially the same.

I got my mother a Journey a few months back, everything but the Nav system for around $22k. They had a few used Aspens and Pacificas on the lot but she was trading her '08 Grand Caravan in with only 13k miles on it and couldn't see going into used with higher mileage. Since the Aspen is no more, was not an option. Didn't need the size of the Caravan any more since my step dad passed away.

Caliber was too small, she hates the look of the Nitro and the '05-'10 WK Grand Cherokees. Would have liked to have seen her in a WK, I've had two ZJ Grand Cherokees and two WJ's, even gave her my '98 ZJ when my ex and I upgraded to an '02 WJ and she loved it.

Your MPGs are looking good Silver, I HATE MDS in a full size truck, but gotta admit that it's a nice feature in an SUV.

Your not too far off what mom's getting with the much smaller 3.5 V6 in her Journey, averaging around 22/23 in everyday driving and about 26/27 on the highway.

Looks great, good luck with it...

I think the wheels fit the vehicle pretty good, IMO, and my wife has a 99 maxima v-6 also, and it has more ***** then my truck, so how was it hammering on the hemi?

Congrats Silver.

My wife likes the Aspen as well. We may be copy catting you in a year or two after she puts more miles on her 2004 Grand Cherokee.
