Default Manual to power window conversion

Hello , Is it possible to convert a 94 Ram 1500 door with a manual window regulator to power windows. I had to replace the driver side door (an embarassing story) an the door had a manual window. The original had power windows. I bought a Dorman regulator/motor, thinking it would bolt on without any problems. It seems that I need to drill some new holes. I still waiting on a reply from Dorman and thought maybe someone here may have some words of wisdom. Thanks in advance.

Why don't you swap everything over from the old door? And yes , you'll have to drill holes.

I could swap every thing out, I have the old regulator but the motor is fried. Thus the reasoning for the new regulator/motor. The mount is the same on both, the real problem is figuring out where to drill the holes for the regulator. I just heard back from Dorman and they don't have a template. I might be stuck with the manual window if I can't find a template.

P.S. I don't have the old door to use as a template, just the parts out of it.

Put the window all the way up. Put the roller in the track that actually raises the window. (you can use duct tape to hold the window up..... works good, but, can be fun to clean off if you leave it too long.) Use your window switch put the regulator all the way in the Up position, then, put it back down a half inch or so. Mark where the mounting holes are, drill the holes, bolt the regulator in place.

By (Put the roller in the track that actually raises the window) do you mean, tape the window in fully up position and attach it to the glass channel/track of the new regulator? I'm not sure what you mean by "roller" but I otherwise understand your instuctions. Any ideas on marking the mounting holes, as the regulator will be on the inside of the door at this point?

Measure the holes from certain points on the old door, and transfer the measurements to the new door.

I don't have the old door, just the regulator. "HeyYou" has a good idea but I'm still trying to reason how to mark the holes to be drilled.

Thanks HeyYou and zman17. Combining your ideas helped me figure out that no new holes need to be drilled. The power regulator's mounting plate bolts on sorta upside down and at a different angle from the manual regulator. Anyway, I have a power window again didn't have to drill new holes. Just had to forget about the way the manual regulator bolted on.
