Default 2006 dodge dakota v6

I just replaced the batteries in my key fob a few weeks ago and it was working fine. I went out to my truck to day and it would not unlock. I used the key to manually unlock the doors and the alarm would not stop.
Any help with this issue would be great.

Mine had done the same thing. I’ve found that if I gently push the lock or unlock button lightly enough times they’ll work, but it’s quicker for me to just manually push down every lock, and use the key to manually unlock it. Because I don’t press the inside locking button or the keyfob locking button, the alarm never goes off.

Sometimes those batteries bought off Ebay and Amazon are counterfeit, and will not work properly, if at all.
Just an FYI, if it applies...

The key fob for my 2005 is crap! But I have learned how to quickly get it to stop waking the neighbors. Unlock the door with the key and insert it in ignition switch and turn to on.and it'll quit. Call local locksmiths and see if they have a factory key and the equipment to set it.

It's possible that the contact points of the buttons inside the fob are dirty after years of use, and aren't properly causing the circuit board inside the fob to "sense" that the buttons are being pressed. If you know what you're doing, you may be able to open the fob and clean the contact points with a drop or two of rubbing alcohol on the end of a q-tip.
