its not too scary. if you have a dremel, cutting some flat abs or even some thin osb would make a good spacer.
I was able to re-use mine, so you might be able to as well. just try pulling your stockers off their little bracket thing. I used a razor under the basket to get the tape/glue off.

Just keep in mind the factory speakers are "full range" and actually give more bass then aftermarket speakers, which is why I added a sub.
Leme know when your back in town, I'll bring my truck down and you can hear the difference with and without the sub.

I just installed my new speakers the other day while it was like 40 degrees outside. I got the wrong size got 5.25 instead of the 6.5 i thought i booked marked. anyways i was able to separate the spacer from the speaker with a screwdriver and then dremeled a couple holes on the side of it and mounted them via zip ties. They hold well and sound pretty good. only trouble is the tweeters they sounds kinda scratchy with the radio
