What if you had an unlimited amount of cash to spend only on a third gen dakota?
For my self:
05-07 QC 4x4
Engine:
Turbo'd 6.1 HEMI with cams and heads.
Exterior:
Dropped but not slammed and air bags in all 4 corners.
20" rims in the front 22" back, painted flat black with blood red pinstripe.
Blacked out tails and smoked headlights and fog lights.
Windows tinted black.
Painted flat black with brushed aluminum and blood red accents.
Interior:
All black suede with deep blood red stitching.
Gauge with red lighting and brushed aluminum accents.
Id name it "pure evil" and do 4 wheel burnouts all over town.

My powertrain would be a blown ACR-X viper motor mated to the 6-speed with a twin disk clutch. Now that Ferrari is a sister company, time to adapt their traction and stability control... (Which would be interesting to see on the next generation of viper... if the rumors are true.

I would swap the 3.7L to a 5.7 Hemi and get the 2500 standard transmission.
Axles would come from a 2500, stuffed with 4.56 gears and OX lockers.
Driveshaftshop driveshaft.
Custom suspension lift...10" or so with 37" BFG KM2s.
Fox racing full coil over front suspension and rear shocks with reseviors.
Have Dodgetrucker build me front and back bumpers with winches.

I'd take an 03/04 body and interior from a QC and stick it on that stiff as nails frame from the 05+
Get someone to fabricate some decent shocks and springs since the OEM and aftermarket units for them suck.
Finally drop in a 6.1 hemi....
Might just have a decent truck then.

5" or 6" custom suspension lift with some 35" tires and a 6.7l CTD with the 6 speed manual, 5" exhaust, and completely blacked out

Solid front axle swap, 4:56's with lockers for both axles. Either a 372 or a 392 supercharged hemi with a 6 speed tranny. On board air compressor. Front and rear mounted winch's. Custom suspension lift with 42" TSL Boggers. Would probably want/need four wheel steering too.
2008 QC 4x4 with the 392 hemi bored out to 426 and a nice twin screw supercharger sitting on top and a magnaflow exhaust. 4" suspension lift sittin on 35's with a solid front axle, manual locking hubs, manual shift transfer case, and frame stretched out to make room for a custom 8' bed. onyx black with color matched grille, mx warrior hood, and matte black stripes starting at the bumper going over the hood all the way back down the tailgate. black and chrome headlights with 55w 8000k hid's and the oem tuner taillights. oh and cant forget the grille guard and roll bar with the piaa 520 smr lights to complete the truck.
