Growing up on a farm, a lot of my early vehicles were junkers, but I put a lot of effort into 1 car & that was a 1949 Monarch (a Merc south of the border). It was a rag top with a flat head V8, pipes coming out just behind the front wheels with spark units on the ends to light the unburned gases, giving a sort-of pulsating flame as we "cruised" main street.

Another car I'll always have fond memories of was a 1956 Jag XK150, again, it was a rag top, wire spoke wheels, and a really bad case of "Lucas disease".

When I was in the military, I was on a bike kick, and had some english bikes (not all together), a Triumph, Norton, and BSA, but the 2 I enjoyed the most were Harleys, a '41 Forty Five and a '56 Seventy Four & these I did have at the same time although I usually only had 1 running at any time.

Since then, I've had an assortment of stuff, and a lot of it fades because it was only a ride - I remember things that I put a lot of effort and creativity into, whether the projects turned out well or not - I had an old Plymouth Duster that fell into that category and still have an old Jeep YJ that still gives me a lot of enjoyment. The Dakota was partially into this category because I started some modifications I thought would lead me to a really good finish, but due to a few circumstances, I didn't get that far.

Once I finish my move and get re-settled, I plan to build myself a hotrod in my new shop. One of my favorite cars was a 36 Plymouth coupe and I'll design the rod around that motif.

Lucas can actually be credited with many innovative ideas, such as intermittent wipers and auto-dimming headlights.

And we all know why the British drink warm beer...

Because they have Lucas refrigerators!

When Bentley returned to LeMans a few years ago, there was a big to-do about it, and rightly so, but they had just finished a pit stop at night, and the cameras were following them down the pit lane, commentators were talking up the whole return, and then . . . complete darkness!

Everything old is new again!

They solved the problem and IIRC, the did not too badly.

Ouch! Nice z28, I like the body kit and color scheme. Was it lowered? Mine is in the garage waiting on the new head gasket with all the good stuff to be installed (valve springs, roller rockers). It sucks the lt1 are over shadowed by the ls1 even though the lt can be built to make respectable power for cheap.
