paxton's are centrifugal superchargers, not a roots style. its still belt driven thats whats why its a supercharger, and turbo is run off exhaust.

yep. Paxton, Procharger, Powerdyne and Vortech, are centrifugal superchargers, the roots/twin screw style are from brands like Whipple, Kennebell, Lysholm, Eaton, and Weiand/Holley.

The pros-cons are hard to pin down as far as performance is concerned, but typically a centrifugal style is more efficient but only by a small margin. They also hold boost more steadily since there is more space between the compressor and the intake manifold, acts like a buffer. They are usually easier to get for any type of engine too since you just need a custom accessory bracket instead of a whole different intake.

Me personally, I'd rather go for a roots/twin screw style just because they look way cooler under the hood. But they are even more rare for our 4.7s

It would be very hard to reproduce the kit for that price. Hell it would be hard to buy just the supercharger head unit new for that price and that's not to mention that Paxton doesn't even make the NOVI 1000 any longer.
