JMR lift kit price increase
Anyone else notice the $1,000 increase in the jmr lift kit price? Now its right at $4,000 with shipping. That's more than I can afford at the moment, so guess I won't be purchasing it this summer after all.
Nothing was added. I emailed asking about it and here is what they had to say:
"Unfortunately, the $2800 price was an introductory price and did not include any profit or money spent on labor to fabricate and assemble the kits. Each kit requires approximately 30 hours of labor to fabricate parts, prepare the steel, assemble the parts, weld the parts, clean the welds, and prime and paint all the parts. We understand that $2800 is a much more desirable price, but unfortunately we just can't continue to sell them at this price, as we would be losing money. We wish we could charge less because that would mean a higher number of sales, but we just can't."

And a kick to the face, Sales prob just took a dive on people interested tho. I wouldnt drop $2800 even for the lift let alone $4000, but thats because I dont need or want 6" or Blocks.
They built a nice kit, then blocks for the rear...

Considering I only paid 14k for my truck, 4k just for their lift is way too expensive. Trust me, I'd love to see her sit higher, but that's breaking the bank.

What a crock. For $4000 you could drive your truck to any off-road specialty shop and have them custom fab you an IFS lift...AND buy a winch, sliders, bumpers, etc. For $4000 grand, why wouldn't anyone just go with a SAS in the front? After working at a race shop that fab's every component on a dragster (including all the machining). I find it hard to believe that $2800 did not include ANY margin. $2800 is twice as expensive as the highest retail priced IFS lifts for the big trucks to begin with. I wish he would chime in.If there is something we are overlooking, I wouldn't mind hearing an explanation.
Seriously, do any of you know how much it costs to develop and market a product with such a small market? He will never make his investment back. Talk about a kick in the face, but to him.
He isn't wal-mart.
I am sure he is wishing he hadn't wasted his time and just made the one for his truck.
