you need a relay kit too. that stops the flickering.

These are the cables it came with. The middle wire seems to be a connector from the socket of the car to the pink thing connector on the ballast. I tried doing that and slip the metal tabs into the socket of the car and the hid just flickers even with the car off.
yep that is correct. black being the ground, and the red being your power. what you have to do is plug the black into the middle of the truck headlight socket, and the red on either side of them. the dakota's have a skinny skinny prong, you might have to take a file and make them skinnier, (this was the case on my 2010). once you have it in, have a buddy turn on your lights. if they flicker badly, this means you need a relay kit. a relay kit plugs in on one side of your headlight socket and it just tells the lights when to fire on, and turn off. then there is a connection that runs over to the other side of the headlight, powering it. there is a connection to the battery which it pulls power from, and a ground. This will solve flickering issues!. they probably were flickering because of the auto delay headlights, how they stay on for a few minutes and then turn off. again, because the truck isnt providing enough power. Hid ballasts, although usually 35watts, use a huge load of power, when firing up because theyre a gas bulb. the 35 watts is usually at running(light emiting) temperatures.
