Default Rear diff fluid change(pictures)

Took about a hour. Never done this before in my life. Nice to have it checked off my list haha.

Seems easy enough, lol I never did it because I didnt know how to refill it afterwards. I think I might give this a try sometime.

Infact im still not to sure on how you refill it.

See that little hole in the center of the last picture? Look at the first picture and compare

Hmm I do not recall seeing those teeth on the outside of the main gear on mine.

I used Royal purple. I got it for 17 or 18 a quart. Guy at O'Reilleys knocked it down for me from 20.99. Just because I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend that kind of money on it.(wanted to keep me there instead of going else where.) They didn't have much of a selection.

question, how high inside does the the fluid fill? if the hole is only half way up, or does it not fill the whole differential?

and where do you get rid of the fluid?

2 quarts filled my 10 bolt rear end up even with the hole.

You fill it up till it starts to flow out the hole.

The hole in the diff cover is your fill, and level indicator... same with the front.

Isn't that for the ABS?
