Default The day I thought would never come....is here...

It is done. Breaks my heart, but it just made no economic sense to keep her...I hardly drive her anymore, she just stays covered up in the backyard, costing me almost $400 a month just sitting there. If I drive her to work, thats another $300 on top of that. We're getting into mortgage territory here...I know I use to say I was going to be buried in that truck,..well that was before $4 gas and $85 fill-ups, I have a 45 mile commute every day, that **** adds up.

I was able to get just shy of what I owe on her. The guy that bought her offered $10,500, I owe 10,800 and some change. He is buying it for his 16 year old son, who will be getting a heck of a truck, if I say so myself. Not parting anything, so, sorry, no parts available. Sold as-is, where-is. I am in the midst of hunting for another truck. I want to get another Dakota and have looked at a couple of 2nd gens, something I can spend a couple grand on and still have a decent truck. I'm in no hurry, and I still own a Dodge (Journey), so I have not completely turned my back on DF. Hope you'll let me stick around. Not sure if I can remain a moderator...I don't intend on abandoning you guys. Tomorrow is my last day with the truck, so excuse me while I go sit in the front seat and have a beer with her.

Memories....

This is incredibly sad, Kent. You must be heartbroken my man..R.I.P. to one of the greatest rides on this site and hopefully that guy's son is one helluva driver. By the way..can I have your front plate? kidding... best of luck though man. 2nd gen is a sweet truck still..I do like those. Maybe find an R/T? Or at least another 4.7. That generation looks good in mineral gray IMO..anyways this is going to be really weird. Thanks for all your help and great sense of humor. We all know you will stay browsing the forum no matter what

Very sad day. Hate to see it go, but times are tough. You have been a great inspiration to many folks around here. I know you will always have this section bookmarked and will keep looking back every now and then.

Keep it real Kent!

Oh man. JK, I'm half way devastated...but I understand. No one can tell you whats right except for you. Your truck is definately one of the best looking 3G daks on the site. Congratulations to you for being an inspiration to 3G dak owners. And, congratulations for not mounting the muffstang wing on the t-cover. Lol. J/K.

Seriously though, don't go off being a stranger just because you sold your truck. Your knowledge, experience, and "get-down" attitude should stay. Plus, if you don't hang around as much...who do I get to tease and poke once in awhile? Lightning is already sick of my BS, but you haven't said anything yet.....

Kenty, you can stay a mod as long as you want. Owning a dodge isnt a requirement, being active and socializing is. We've have/had several mods and admins who have sold there dodge and remained here, unfortunately though they stepped down do to inactivity.
