Default Custom Console

Well my first project for the warmer months has arrived. Still not sure were its going to end up.

I bought a Small Toolbox, 8Wx12x12 or whatever it is. And plan to either install it between the rear jump seats, or Remove my center seat in the front and get a Diamond plate adapter/Tray/Rear Cup holder made so I can bolt the toolbox to it, then to the OEM center seat location.

nice! ill be following this one. im building a custom center console out of aluminum to house switches and circuit breakers for lighting, as well as a place to flush mount my CB and Siren controller.

of course a must have is new cupholders and a lockable compartment.

cant wait to see what you do with this.

No progress yet, Got hit by the storm this weekend on the East Coast
For the front I plan to Unbolt the seats, then unbolt the Jump seat, and NOT unplug that pesky Airbag sensor.
Once I get that done, Ill test fit the Toolbox by itself and see how it sits, then I might that it to the same shop that did my Custom Lower Rad Support and Aluminum Rack. and have the rest of the console made, Thinking I might extend it to were the OEM console is and have a Spot made for my Sat Radio, Cup holders, Bottle holder and tray made.
projektdirtfab reminded me I still have to have a Aluminium plate made for my Dash for 2 switches

The mounting bolts for the passenger seat are tied into the airbag system. If you unbolt the passenger seat, you may get the airbag light issue some of us have had. It's not the disconnection of the wiring that causes the airbag fault light to say 'hello'.

did you guys disconnect the battery? I would hope that with the battery disconnected it wouldn't prompt the airbag light on the dash

Yeah, I disconnected the battery, pulled the fuses, and even waited a few hours before pulling the seats.

With my luck this winter, id get the Light haha.
Stopepd at Tim Hortons this morning then the Security Light came on for about a minute, and I dont even have the security system, or power anything haha.

I plan to Disconnect the battery, and replace the battery Terminals again (When I towed my brother car 100km, when we went to boost it found out my Positive Battery terminal was barely connected.) I already changed both Negative and Positive to Aftermarket ones, Time to change them again to match or just the Positive one.
