Default might change my muffler..

hey guys, I've been thinking about getting a different muffler for the truck. I like my Magnaflow but it is a little quiet for my liking. At one point over the summer I ordered an MBRP Cool Duals catback system but I cancelled it to save my $400 or whatever. Anyways, I am interested in the Borla XR-1 muffler and it sounds pretty cool on this 4.7L Jeep WJ

the one in the first video has a high flow cat but I don't think that cat adds much tone...this Jeep in the next video sounds amazing but it is 3" exhaust and 3" cats etc..I feel like maybe on my truck with 2.5" pipe it would be on the quiet side.

Also, MBRP mufflers are available individually on autoanything.com since this summer. They offer different lengths and diameters of pipe. If one of you with the catback system could help me find out which muffler would be the closest sounding to the one in their catback systems that would be great! No one has reviewed the things yet so I don't know what the heck I'm buying if I choose that route..

Just want the sound of the Dak to turn some extra heads plus my favorite radio station is my motor

My magnaflow is a single in dual out with dumps right in front of the rear axle and it'll wake the dead at WOT.

I love the sound of my Magnaflow, same model as yours. I get compliments on it as well. But I'm not looking for the loudest system either, so the sound falls in the perfect range for me. You know the saying, be careful what you wish for, there's nothing worse than living with an exhaust system too loud for your liking.

The Borla mufflers do sound pretty good, not sure how loud the cabin get though. Of course there are Magnaflow models which are louder too, the smaller the muffler, the more sound you should get out of it. Whatever you choose, you know that sound clips are mandatory around here.

Yeah, I chose it because of you and it really is a sweet tone. I don't think that it would wake the dead at WOT like ODXbeef claims on his but I'm sure its pretty loud. My problem probably is that I never see anyone else driving my truck so I don't know how it really sounds from a different perspective. Either way, I like to change things up and would like some extra sound but quality sound. I hate drone..which is what I feel like flowmaster is

I think also tip placement as well as length/diameter of the piping in the system will to some extent determine the noise you are going to get. Mine is a straight pipe from the Y to the muffler with 2 turndowns right before the rear axle. It is a 12588 fwiw.

The entrance to my neighborhood is about 100 yards from my house and my family can hear me pulling onto the street from our living room.

i got the flowmaster delta 40, heres about a week after i got it on
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...0-exhaust.html

its burned in and settled down a little and is not obnoxiously loud, but you can definitely here it from a good bit away. i kept mine at 2.5", if you want noise go 3" but if you care for performance there is no difference, 3" might lose low end but im not sure(on chevys it does)
