Default my recent trip to pep boys for tires...

Well last week I went on a trip to Hershey PA for a mini vacation from Long Island. I decides that since I got my tax refund early I would fix my ball joints, new struts, and new tires (just in time for the blizzard too.). I went to a shop and got my ball joint replaced but the struts and mounts he couldn't do since I didn't supply new bolts and bushings since they were rated together. (I had a guy I know do the other stuff since I was just paying for labor.) Anyways, back to my point. I went to pep boys on Thursday, the day before the storm after making an appointment earlier in the week. They took my car right away put the tires on aligned and it took 2.5 hours. Since rush hour was approaching I figured I rush home before I get caught up. I got home To check the new tires out and they said 245/70/16...
I called an explained my situation and he told me to come back tomorrow and he'll switch them out. I show up around 1:30 pm and I end up waiting 3 hours for them just to replace my tires. I asked them about another alignment and they told me its not necessary. I say "OK".
I got to leave in the height of the blizzard and instead of a half hour ride home, it took me 2.5 hours because people think their prius' can take on the world.
So I wrote them a letter explaining my situation and well I was pissed. A couple days later I left for PA and well my truck still pulls to the right, a lot. After looking at the tires closer with no snow around it seems they took a chisel to take off the old weights on my rim and two Are badly scratched. My front driver side squeaks when I brake, but I think that's from doing the ball joints.
That location has called me back since they got the email and apologized and offered me a free oil change... I then informed them that they scratched my rims and he said they would have to investigate and look at the cameras.
Ugh... I'm going back Friday, how should I act and what should I demand when I get there?
Thanks for reading my long rant, if you actually read it all.
I'm also not checking for typos because I hate re reading things on my phone. Lol

Go in calm... but pissed... Demand the new tires, a free oil change.. and the rims repaired and you be compensated for your time.

may not get it all but you will get something.

Hopefully you can prove they did the damage. Their cop-out will be it was existing.

Youll never see scratches on rims with a camera (CCTV) and I dont think they would put in IP cameras, and then even 5mp ones in a Auto bay. (I install them)
I Installed 2 here for a Toyota dealer, Standard Ones and that was just so customers could watch them doing Oil/Tire Changes.

I would get them to Fix/replace the rim. My truck never squeaked when I got either of my Lower Ball joints replaced, or brakes

I have never seen anything good come out of a Pep Boys....

Several years back my brother-in-law took in his 84 Trans-Am (his college junker) to get checked out due to failing emissions. They wrote up an estimate with nearly $1700 in repairs. These were items like replacement carburator, full tune up (cap, rotors, wires, plugs) and other misc junk. I had him bring the car over to my house for a quick check. Found the O2 sensor feedback wire had come loose and melted on the exhaust manifold. Also the passenger side air injection manifold was broken. Replaced air injection manifold and fixed the O2 sensor lead. Passed emissions with flying colors.

They aren't diagnosing anything. Just throwing guesses. Idiots.

The mother-in-law took her Chevy Cavalier in there also for some maintenance one day. Was one of the older Z24 models with the 2.8 V6. The estimate for replacing a serpentine belt included the labor adds for power steering pump interference and a/c interference. They also had a labor add for transmission cooler interference on a radiator hose replacement. The car was a MANUAL transmission. The belt labor adds were meant for a different version of the 2.8 that had seperate v-belts.

I called them out on the overcharges and they refunded them back to my mother-in-law.

The chain is a total rip off machine. I have never met anyone that came out of there with an honest diagnosis or repair.

Today I go in there. I hate confrontation but I can't let them get away with carelessness of work. I knew it was a bad idea from the start but it was down the block from work and a good deal.

I also thought I was the only one on LI. Lol

And Hershey was great as always
I thinks my girlfriend and i's new vacation spot. We pretty much went to Hershey pantry for breakfast then to Hershey world and made chocolate bars then our last stop was cabelas and since they didn't have to many rifles left I just bought random stuff.
