I have a 3.7 in my dakota. I thought the same thing when i bought it. That i should get better gas milage. WRONG! The truth is that engine is underpowered for that size of truck so it has to work to hard to keep it movin. I think the v6 actually gets worse mpg than the v8. Who would have thought.

 

i got a 04 with the 3.7 and i get 18 mpg .it is stock with a k&n
