Default lowering question/issues

Have 2005 Dakota 4x4. Lowered the rear by relocating the spring perch and bundle to under the axle and replacing the stock perches w 2" lowering perches. My question is if I add "add a leaf" leaves to the spring bundle would that lift the truck higher or force the suspension lower because its underneath the axle instead of over it? I can't imagine it in my head....ha. I want them to have the extra pay load capacity because the truck is still used to do truck things in....thanks

Anything that would increase the arch or the spring would lift the truck, regardless of whether the spring center is mounted above or below the axle. Many bolt-on add-a-leaf products don't actually increase the arch but increase the stiffness to allow move load. To change the arch, you need to get a spring shop to take the pack apart and re-arch each leaf to give you the lift (or sag) that you want. The jeep springs I've had re-arched cost me around $150 each.

Being that your now sprung under. Adding a leaf wouldnt affect ride height. You would just lose a few threadson your u bolts so make sure they have enough threads for the thickness of the new leaf.
