Default Leaf spring swap

Now I know for a fact this has been done before because there's a few guy on here who have done it. But I can't find anything that shows it being done.
I want to swap the leaf springs from a Ram 2500 in my '05 Dakota. But I don't know any measurements or anything. I think what I'm really asking is if it's just a straight swap or is there fabrication that goes into it. As is there a thread on the subject?

Thanks in advance,
Tommy

You can look up your springs and the springs you want to swap in here to get dimensions.

When I did mine, I used Ramcharger rear springs because the front half was the same length as the front half on my stock springs. The rear half was shorter, so I had to relocate the rear hangers. In my case, I was doing a shackle flip so I needed new hangers anyway, so I just removed the stock ones and bolted on the new ones in the proper spot.

Thanks for the link. I checked the lengths, sadly they don't match up.
Is there a way to find out which ones are already on my truck?

You mean as far as weight rating? You might be close if you go by the number of leaves, but I'm not sure, since that company is an aftermarket manufacturer, not an OEM supplier.

FWIW, moving the rear hangers is a piece of cake (as long as you take the bed off), so you really only need to find some with the right front length.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Higher capacity and no sag while towing but I want to keep my Dak and maybe get a little lift.
Also, for lift up front, what would be good coilsprings to swap out with?

If you just want a little front lift with no change in spring rate, I think you can get coil spring spacers pretty cheap. If you want to stiffen it up, I can't really help you. Maybe look at some full-size Dodge or Ford trucks and compare the coil length/diameter?
