Default Disconnected...

So I just wanted to drop in an say "HEY!". I feel slightly disconnected from the crew! I have been all over the Northeast as of lately and there's been a bunch of change in my life which I figured I would share, all for the positive, though it has taken a majority of my free time up both in the office and personal time. Anyways, if you haven't heard, the wife and I are expecting our first little one, a son in September. Its pretty exciting and nerve racking all in one. That has been quite the roller coaster of events for us Secondly, I am sad to say I wont have many more pictures to share with you of my wild and crazy climbing and such for my company. Last month I decided to step down out of that team. I have had a change of heart doing it and decided my time was down and I would let the younger guys bask in the glory of it. I will continue inspecting America's infrastructure, just not by a thread. I do have a bunch of pictures I will periodically share with you guys though that are new. Anyways, how has everyone been? If you are new introduce yourself!

Nice to meet you Lightning, my name is DonkeyPunch. I represent the 3G 3.7L trucks of envy and tend to make slightly sarcastic posts once in a very great while. Lol.

Congrats on your little one. My wife and I had our first in Dec, 2011. We are not really sure where the time went. It felt like yesterday when I was changing our shopping habits: hold off on race car parts and guns....

LOL you smartass! I know who you are! Yeah I swear time is flying even faster than before! I've been getting every bit of shopping in before the little guy comes. Every month it seems I have purchased something big. Everything from a new generator to a gun or two, to ammo boxes clogged full of whatever caliber, .45s, 9s, I can find beings the inventory is coming back, on top of reloading resources The lastest was a Ruger SR9 and a Generac XG8000E lol But overall, he has his own fund too

lol, yeah, it's always been a optional thing. It was fun and I enjoyed it, its just time to move on and not do it anymore. The stress, added work and risk isnt worth it anymore especially for the $0 added pay for doing it

Congrats on the little man on the way !!

Enjoy these little baby days cause they go by so fast.

seems like I brought my oldest boy home a few months ago, he's 10 years old now with a 6 yr old little brother, so don't blink, LOL!

It also changes those priorities/toys .. More fisher price & less summit racing.

Good to see you back, even if I don't have a dak anymore....friendlier bunch of fellas in this 3G dak section.

Congrats brother!

I know I've been on and off from the forum over the past couple years, but for those of you that don't know me, here is my little background.

My name is Dominic, I'm from just outside of Cleveland Ohio and currently living in Akron Ohio going to school for Nursing. I was a combat medic in the Army on active duty for 6 years and when I moved back home in 09 I switched over to the National Guard. Spent 3 tours overseas to both Iraq and Afghanistan and most recently came back from the sandbox this past September.

Though I have mostly a medical background, I'm pretty mechanically inclined and have been constantly improving my carpentry/automotive/tinkering skills over the past several years. I am an avid gun owner and I'm very much into anything that's .45 caliber.

I don't have any kids, but I recently met the love of my life and it's looking like we will probably tie the knot in the next year or so.

I would love to meet up with any other Dak owners, especially people from this forum, if any of you are in the Northeastern part of the country.

lol, Awesome, thanks for the service man! I think my fav caliber is the .45 Its just a smooth shooting rd. I occasionally pass through Akron, well the outskirts on 80. We had a member from the same exact area that I have met up with a couple times when he was out in Fort Indiantown Gap doing some training and stuff. Ive been meaning to meet up with some of the local DFers around here too. Met up with 2 so far in the surrounding area, both Dak owners. Then of course Ive hung out with both Altair and Ericemery, both Dak owners, numerous times. Both attended my wedding in the past. Two good friends of mine too. They pop in on DF from time to time.

Thanks man...the military has been really good for me to the point where it doesn't even feel like a service. I agree, the feel of a .45 is awesome, especially from a 1911. I do like some of the high capacity polymer guns, like the M&P and USP, but the feel of a 1911 just gives me goose bumps lol. You gotta let me know the next time you pass through this way (I can only guess that it's for your job maybe?).
