dakotaff! thanks I will try to find one a those clamps! I was hitting the bolt with an impact and it wasn't budging. But then using a socket and breaker bar I noticed it could rock side to side then heard rubber creaking and said wth? then saw the bushing up top. I was hitting it with aerokroil but that probably made it even easier to spin.
Noticed the new bolt has pre-applied threadlocker so no doubt the old one does too. This ain't gonna' be easy but nothing worthwhile ever is. Please work please work please work.
update: clamp purchased! will try tomorrow. maybe should drop on some jb weld to create a lump / stop for the jaws to catch? blissful happiness until then.

The bolt you are trying to remove is attached to a body mount as you have found out. The mount has a rubber "puck" underneath. Like I said, keeping that thing from turning is the key to getting the bolt out. On mine, I actually snapped one bolt off and the other I had to resort to drilling the hole in it and putting a screw in the hole to keep the mount from turning. Destroyed both of them.
