Default Pre-runner

So guy, I had the idea of making my truck a prerunner. I plan on doing this over a period of time, but what all would be necessary? Coilovers, good tires, tubular bumpers, lsd, gears....what else? Has anyone done this before?

Well being that the term "prerunner" means a vehicle used to run the course prior to a race...a skateboard could be a prerunner. What are your goals and uses? That would more better determine your needs

Take a look at Cody's truck, AKA:ProjektDirtFab

He has definitely gone the furthest with our body style.

The truck will be a daily driver but also something to take out on the weekends. Nothing crazy. Very similar to ProjektDirtFab

Thanks Cody. Well, the front bumper is going to look very similar to yours. The rear is almost finished, but will be more like a high clearence off road bumper/hitch. Waiting for some nice weather here.

for daily driver weekend warrior id say either copy the baja raider build or stick to mid travel. Stock arms. Maybe steering rod upgrade. And coilovers.

Is there a kit available for the coilovers?

No. A plate with tabs will need to be fabbed for the upper coil mount and either get a coilover that has fork style lower mount. Or cut the bushing off your control arm and weld in plate to allow the installation of heim style coilover

How much do you have in your truck, upgrade-wise, if you don't mind me asking?
