Default Well Guys, Dakota is Gone

It has been a long road of none stop, but memorable nightmare with the truck.

My baby is 10 1/2 years old and had her since day 1.

Bought a 2014 Chevy 1500 DD 5.3L V8 4x4

I may be in and out for a while, got a bunch of goodies to sell.

I was wondering how much longer you would hold out....I know you had your share of issues with her but you got your moneys worth out of that Dak. Thats a nice truck you picked up. Welcome to the Silverado club. Hope there are no recalls....lol.....needs bigger tires, btw....

Did you trade? Inquiring minds want to know what you got for her......

I did trade the Dakota in

First dealer wanted to give me $5000 for trade

Next dealer really wanted the sale and he told me he was gonna go crazy and earn my business. I did not believe him and told him to put his money where his mouth is.

The break down is as follows
They gave me $8000 for the Dakota
About $4000 for GM friends and family discount
$3250 in GM rebates
$1000 for the "all star package" rebate
$1000 Conquest Cash (switching from Dodge to GM)
$2000 Dealer Cash

for a grand total of $19,250 off MSRP

Like I said, it was a deal I could not pass up

I don't think I could have passed that deal up either. I could overlook the bowtie and endure the bailout jokes for that.

Honestly, if I ever got another truck in place of the Dakota it would definitely be a new Silverado. Your truck looks great. They are awesome. They are also one truck that you can abuse badly but can handle it and will keep on going no matter what.

Is the 5.3 liter the same old proven towing engine or a new tech one? I do know some old 5.3's that have 250+ miles and run like brand new with no oil leaks and tailpipes that are clean and shiny (meaning not burning even the slightest bit of oil). Unbelievable. Chevy trucks have earned their reputation.

Im thinking the same, except the new GMC as I like the looks alittle more then the silverados.

Wish I could get 8k for my Dak
