I used to be an active forum Dakota 2nd gen owner. Many many moons ago. Since then life has happened, my baby was sold. To an excited young man who like myself 5 years prior was thrilled about Dakota ownership. I saw pictures of it going mudding shortly after the sale. An I was at peace with my decision. Until the itch came back the very next day. And for 8 years have suffered the loss of my child.
Now I'm back baby! An meet the new Whip! Ain't she sexy af? 4.7L H/O with AWD/4x4 and 3.92 gearing! An no check engine light 🥲. Oh it is an exciting time to be alive, I found the unicorn!
Congrats, looks pretty good sittin' there. I'm sayin' the black headlights should be in your cart already.
Good luck with it. And let's see a pic of the old Dak.
Yes in consideration. But I'm taking her to a restoration/customization shop next week. She's going to get strip, derusted and recoated in totality. An were going to repaint and do some refining and customizing. She's got the powerplant, drivetrain and right gearing. So we just need to get her back to full health and protection. The heart is still good.
I'm just thankful in this moment I have no wife and no kids. So the truck is getting my attention
Nice to see someone make it back. Seems like the posts of trading in for a new Ram have died down.
I'll be honest, I just dislike fullsize trucks. I thought about a ram once because it was the right price used. But I sat down and did a cost analysis on new vs used this year. An got my truck at an auction house. I could dump 10 grand into the truck and run it for 10 years. An it would be less than the depreciation alone of a new RAM with similar loadout. An the fuel cost difference will be negligible. When you factor in the loan interest and shear $40,000 minimum purchase price difference.
I'm sending my Dak to a restoration/custom shop. Were gonna restore/repaint/recoat/improve the entire truck.
