So I had to take my Truck into the Dealer last night. The tuesday before last I was getting ready to fill up my tank and I opened the gas door and one of the bolts that holds the gas door on was shearedin half and the head of the bolt just fell out as I opened the freaking door. So I took it in they ordered the part and I was there last night getting it installed...took them an hour...so while I was waiting I went and talked to they guys in the parts dept.. Was askin about different stuff...just thought I'd see what was available for my truck through them and how rediculously over priced they are. Well you all know I wish I could have gotten the Nightrunner package...but since the car was used I couldn't... well I got prices on the Black painted grille from the Nightrunner or Sport package $300 not too much more than I expected...then I asked about the rims...they wanted about $400 a rim for 17 inch rims... I was like seriously...any way I just wanted to vent about the F***in' prices of the rims... I really want those Freakin' Night runner rims... oh and Mopar doesn't even offer an intake for the 3.7L dakota right now which pissed me off too...not that I would buy their intake anyway...atleast not if its more than $200...so yeah

 

Did you try looking online...ebay or mopar.com? You might be able to get a deal on night runner rims there...

I was on mopar.com yesterday looking for something else for someone and the rims for Dakotas were much cheaper there, but I'm not sure if they were night runner rims.

Random question....did they make a night runner for '07? I couldn't find any info about it at Dodge.com.

 

Yeah I checked this morning and I couldn't equip and price a nightrunner on the Dakota at all neither 06 or 07...IDK and I was actually looking at Mopar.com earlier and I couldn't find the nightrunner rims...I hate the mopar site...but I doubt I could get them cheaper through mopar...the dealer goes through mopar and the only thing they said the could do was if I know an employee and I get is employee # and last name I can get up to 25% off (which I do know an employee)...

P.S. the guys at the service dept. said that if you get a prob with ur truck and you have like an intake or any of that stuff...you might want to remove it before it comes in because if they can link it to that it voids the warrenty (just thought I'd mention that incase people don't look in the stickies area)

 

yeah, mopar.com was just a shot in the dark. if ebay doesn't work, another option might be to take your existing and paint them...they wouldn't be exactly like the night runner rims, but would be darker. or just get custom rims that are much, much cheaper, just not factory.

frenchy's summer set are pretty nice and i believe he painted/smoked his winter set.

 

Yeah I'll probably paint them...eventually when I figure out exactly how to/ find the time.

 

ill tell u what, if i had to get new rims for my dakota, id want the srt10 night runner wheels...if not, definately the nr wheels off the ram....as for the grill, there is nothing special about it...honestly, this summer i may look into a black chrome bolt over billet grill....i think for this "special package" they should have done something a little better than our girll...imo it looks kinda plain...ok very plain....but i still love the package, especially the interior...kinda wish they were numbered vehicles though......if i could ask for one more thing about the n/r package besides the grill, or even more importantly than the grill, it would be do something with the tail lights...the red in a sea of black looks kinda off....i do love all the options it does come with though, and very happy i was able to get one, just wish the grill was more special...but hell, u cant get everything...
