I'm with Eric here. Don't judge it right away after the first 800 miles. Especially if you're trying to compare it to a Hemi Durango. Wait 'til it's got a few thousand and then see what you think.
Exhaust and intakes are things to consider, too, if you have the $$$.

I'm driving a V6 6-spd manual and I think its real good for the size and weight of the truck. I got lots of power, feels stronger then alot of other V6 trucks ive driven. I think its the auto tranny. My manual makes my V6 really nice for what its pullin.

Mine has plenty of passing speed on the highway and doesn't need to downshift out of O/D on the highway to gain speed, and I'm a mile above sea level where the air is a lot thinner. I have the 4.7, 5 speed auto, 4x4, and 3.92 gears. Maybe it's because it has atri-diamond emblem on it instead of the ram head emblem.

I would suggest pushing the tow/haul mode button around town--disengaging the O/D.....It won't bogg into O/D like it usually does....It will hold third until 45mph then, if you're not still accelerating, will drop into 4th.....When you deaccelerate to about 30, the tranny will back down into 3rd again. With the O/d off in the tow-haul mode, it's definantly easier to use the RPMs in your favor.
I think they all have tow/haul, because they still are meant to haul, even if they don't have the tow packages. But I might be wrong.
The tow pack can come with any gearing (except maybe the 3.21s). I have the tow pack, but the 3.55 gears (they wouldn't give me the 3.92s and a stick). Getting the lesser gears just knocks 1500 lbs. off the maximum tow capacity.

If your's has the tow pack, the easiest way to tell is to check under your rear bumper. If there's a Class IV receiver hitch and wiring for 7 pin and 4 pin trailer electric, you have it. You'll also have larger, heated mirrors. None of the above means no tow pack.
